Money is always a good consultant – and in this case too

It all starts with a assessment of the current situation. Our expert visited the site, and the starting points were clear:

• Old lamps were partially out or fluorescent tubes were glowing from one end – dangerous heat that could ignite surrounding materials.
• The illumination level was only 230 lux, far below the recommended level for safety and work efficiency.
• There were light lines on the shelves because the layout of the production facilities had changed over time. This created a fire risk, and when lifting goods onto the shelves, the glass could break – especially dangerous in food facilities.
• The placement of workstations had changed, and the light no longer fell where it was needed most.

What was decided to do?

• A new lighting plan was created using a design program: over 500 lux for workstations, over 300 lux for shelf aisles.
• The positioning of the light lines was redesigned to focus the light exactly where it is needed.
• The lighting at the workstations was supplemented with separate lamps to improve visibility and working comfort. This improvement was made after interviews with employees.

• An installed solution proposal according to the plan is delivered to the customer. A payback period calculation for the investment was also included to facilitate decision-making.
• Light levels were achieved tarkasti.
• The solution includes smart lighting that detects movement and presence: the lights are not left on unnecessarily. The system is easily programmable to meet changing needs.

• Energy savings: The old lighting consumed approximately 100,000 kWh per year, the new lighting only 20,000 kWh per year – consumption dropped to one fifth of what it was before. The investment pays for itself in approximately two years.

• Safety: A better-lit space reduces accidents, especially when moving with forklifts and pallet trucks. Visibility helps you anticipate situations and prevent risks.
